Quentin Tarantino Reportedly Making Movie About Manson Family Murders

July 13, 2017

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Quentin Tarantino is reportedly working on a movie about the gruesome Manson family murders, making this his first film based on real events.

Tarantino, who is known for his violent films, apparently wrote and will also direct the film, which remains untitled but will begin shooting in 2018. Several other details pointed out by The Hollywood Reporter? Harvey and Bob Weinstein, who have worked with Tarantino in the past, are involved in the forthcoming film, as well. While actors Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence were apparently approached regarding the film, Lawrence is reportedly not considering the Tate role.

Charles Manson is currently in prison for ordering his “family” to murder a producer who previously rejected him, but they instead killed actress Sharon Tate (pregnant with husband Roman Polanski’s baby at the time) and several others.
